When the National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) launched their exciting new 'Model Shop of Excellence' concept, they brought together a range of top suppliers to support their customers.
Norcon Computers was selected for its 20 years of high standards, training and quality equipment. As Kevin Ransom of the NFRN commented: "Customers want the peace of mind that the decision they make when buying an EPoS system is the right one."
The very first Model Shop was designed and implemented for Jim Hooda of Barry Thomas News in Rushden. State-of-the-art touch screen Response EPoS systems and a back office computer were installed within two hours and, after just half an hour's initial training, the shop was able to start trading. Full training was completed over the next two days, covering close of business operation and opening up procedures.
Jim reported that the refit resulted in a quadrupling of turnover within three weeks. His system allows him to see his best selling lines and what money goes through his tills, while stock purchasing now takes far less time as a simple function on his back office computer.
Said Jim: "It was a very trying time for me, closing the shop, revamping and reopening all in one week. The whole process was very smooth and Norcon Computers were superb throughout. I would recommend them to everyone - they did a top job!"
